BIO

Jillian is award-winning director having created work for clients such as Samsung, HP, Degree, Honda, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Vans, Urban Outfitters, among others. Recently named by Adweek in 2018 as one of the “Top 100 Creatives”, and one of the “15 Top Directors to Watch,” Jillian Martin brings passion to every project she directs.

In addition to her expanding commercial work, Martin completed shooting this year and is in post on a young sports driven feature documentary as well as a pilot for a wanderlust travel television show.

Originally on the path to becoming an art teacher she completely changed course the moment she walked onto a film set for the first time. She worked her way through almost all of the rolls you can have in film, working as an Art Director and Editor to support herself through college and then ultimately falling in love with Directing and Cinematography.

Upon graduation, she relocated to Los Angeles where she currently resides.  After years of working and collaborating with top directors in the commercial industry, she built upon the wonderful relationships she had established with agencies and clients with her enthusiasm and collaborative nature. Bringing passion to every project she directs, always striving to make her sets feel easy and free-flowing.

Jillian’s directing style when it comes to talent is to be up close and personal. She always creates a relationship with the talent so an effortlessness and ease come off on screen. She believes in owning her shots and as a result, often prefers to operate the camera herself when she can. She’s not afraid to repel from a rock-climbing wall carrying a camera, to be submerged underwater in the middle of the ocean with equipment, or to skate behind talent to get the right shot.
